Peru

My little trip around the world continues...

Gone for the true Incas : I visited Lima - Cuzco- Sacred Valley -Machu Picchu- Rainbow mountains -Puno –Uros – Amantani Island- Taquile and Juliaca ! 😎🌎
I Arrived first in Lima, visited briefly the city ,starting with the Magic Circuit of water in Santa Beatriz District, then went to Barranco District for a buffet dinner in La Dama Juana restaurant, with typical show dances from all Perú.

Lima to Cusco – STEP 1
City tour and mostly acclimatize! I went to visit the Cathedral, the Inca Temple of the Sun, Tambomachay, Qengo, Puca Pucara and Sacsayhuaman....

Cusco - Sacred Valley - STEP 2
The famous sacred valley with outstanding view! Amazing..
I went to Visit Pisac ruins, Pisac market, had lunch in Urubamba then visited Ollantaytambo . Then took the train to Aguas Calientes, beautiful long ride, in between valley, forest... - Machu Picchu here I was finally! My next hotel was right next to it!
The sound of the waterfall was so loud! And Machu Picchu so huge it's scares me when I woke up and faced it at night (don't see much just a huge big mountain and forest but very imposing)...and the train passing by shaking the bed even ..

The Machu Picchu Tour - hours of climbing... STEP 3
Hike girl hike ! No way back ! Exploring the most important temples and learning about the history of the site and went back to Cuzco ..

The famous Rainbow Mountain Trek - STEP 4
The hardest one for real... it's very difficult. I chewed coca leaves all the way. I was tired the tour guide ask if I wanted the ride of the horse ... could not say no otherwise I would have found myself kissing the floor. I got altitude sickness and needed oxygen and rest! Bad.. 5200 meters high is no joke.
Drove through the south valley, to the trail-head at Quesiuno (4,326 m) and reached the Inkintuyoc bridge to have breakfast. It was the longest day ever.
Started off on the hike, seeing lots of alpacas and llamas. Wonderful views of the Ausangate Mountain. Hike through villages and see the local residents, seeing as well chinchillas and vicuñas (these are the only non-domesticated animal of the llama family in Perú.).
Many red & colored mountains : Welcome to the top and the shocking beauty after 4hours! to 5,020m.

Puno –Uros – Amantani Island - STEP 5
I went to the port to take a motor boat on the waters of Lake Titicaca. I visited the floating island of the Uros .

They use the cattail, a type of bush which grows in the lake, to create conditions that ensure that the island stays afloat. Then went to Amantani island and spent a night at a local family (typical Amantani home). Well ... I did not sleep, couldn't .. but hell of an experience!

Amantani Island – Taquile and Juliaca back to Lima - Last STEP
Continued the trip into Taquile island, visiting different traditional sites.

One of the best experiences I have ever lived. Dazzled by the discovery of this marvelous civilization that once existed before those "European/Western world savages " came to DESTROY ,plunder, break, steal, kill ... then establish 'their' own christian "beliefs" ....
