My little trip around the world continues...

Vaduz, Liechtenstein

I was waiting to go for over a year now, hoping for the summer but every time whenever I was free the weather forecast was not good enough. This Saturday, last day of August 2019, it was the perfect deal: 26 degrees and sunny, perfect for a little drive road trip to this tiny country only 2 hours away from home! So I woke up early took my bag and grab my car keys : All set to Liechtenstein! A country sandwich between Austria and Switzerland is to be my 70th country visited.

Found out it's a great time to visit, a celebration time, it's their 300th anniversary this year!

I admire the marvelous views of the Rhine River at Peter-Kaiser-Platz, the fabulous buildings such as the Parliament House, the Rathaus and the neo-Gothic St. Florin's Cathedral.

It seems to be quite a popular tourist destination now thanks to its magnificent setting of mountains, many excellent hiking trails, ski slopes and winter sports, and impressive buildings.

I enjoyed walking in the beautiful central square, very small though, stop by a cafe to have a drink while looking at people. Perfect chill and calm, right what I needed.

See below some videos !

- Awesome medieval castles, vast alpine landscapes and picturesque villages connected by a network of trails...-

Between Switzerland and Austria

I walked around the charming and compact capital Vaduz where I also stamped my passport just for fun. From the town hall you can explore all foot... while driving I stooped by many spots to admire alpine landscapes, walk in little villages, have better views of the castles, and enjoyed the curvy roads.

I saw more tourists than locals !

Did you know? The Principality of Liechtenstein is one of the most heavily industrialized countries in the world, has the highest per capital gross domestic product, and is one of five countries that have no government debt.

Lama and alpaca

Until I got here I didn't know I could see Lama outside of Peru, last I saw them !

So this is the place you can go for a walk trek with... a Lama :)  and even stay on the Farm: Glamping in a Tepee, where trekkers could relax and stay a while alongside your llama and alpaca neighbors. What a thing!

Vaduz

Monuments and buildings are glamorous!

Vaduz, Balzers, Triesen, Triesenberg, Steg...

Walking and driving through the city and some little villages is really cool and calming ...
